Ever wanted just permanently to stay in Canada?

Well, I do.

When my wife and I arrived in Montreal, Quebec, I did not want to return to the US.

We enjoyed the culture, music, food, and Canada's diverse culture. Also!! Almost everyone speaks three or more languages!!! That is amazing!!

That's when I realize my parents immigrated to the wrong country. Imagine the free healthcare and the maturity of their citizens versus US citizens. Again it's just my opinion.

Once our trip was over, and its time to go back to the US; as we go through all the security checks and all the gates, except the final gate where they have to check if you're a US citizen or not.

That's when I got detained and thought, HEY! I can finally stay in Canada!!

When the US customs officer came back and told me,

“Sorry, I have to take your passport because you reported it missing and did not report that you found it.”

First, I smiled and thought to myself; this is it! My chance to stay in Canada.

Then US customs officer was very nice and told me,

“make sure you apply for a new passport once you arrive in the US and write down that your passport was confiscated in Montreal, Canada.”

In conclusion, I had to come back home and wish I was a Canadian citizen. Also, I applied for a new passport and will again visit the beautiful country of the north.
